The Privacy Act 1993 controls how organisations collect, use, disclose, store and give access to 'personal information'. The Act requires any organisation collecting such information to publish its privacy policy.
Privacy Statement
We collect personal information from you as a NMMS (the Club) member. This includes:
• Your name
• Your contact details including postal address, phone number(s) and email address
• Date of commencement or cessation of your membership
• Registered hull number of boats owned by you
• Sail numbers registered to you.
In addition, the Club may collect results, images and videos of club events that you have participated in.
The Club collects your personal information in order to:
• Enable the proper administration of the Club
• Send you occasional emails or other communications
• Promote radio sailing as a sport and recreation in Auckland and New Zealand.
• Promote radio sailing on the Club website and on other radio sailing websites.
Besides the Executive Committee, we share this information in the following ways:
• Each year the Club renews your membership of the New Zealand Radio Yachting Association
(NZRYA). In doing that, the Club passes on your name and contact details and details of your boats
and sail numbers to NZRYA **. The Club is affiliated to NZRYA and is bound by the NZRYA constitution
to provide this information.
• **Note: NZRYA may also share this information with the relevant NCA (National Class Association)
• Membership statistics may be shared in communications with members and with NZRYA from time to
time.
• Photos and videos may be shared with other websites to promote the sport of radio sailing.
Except as described above, permitted by the Club constitution, or required by law, no personal information
about any member shall be released by the Club without the explicit permission of that member.
You have the right to opt out of Club email lists or contact lists. If you wish to opt out of either of these lists,
please contact the Secretary.(Secretary@wattlefarmsailing.nz)
Personal information collected by the Club is held by the Club secretary. You have the right to ask for a copy
of any personal information we hold about you, and to ask for it to be corrected if you think it is wrong. If you
would like to see a copy of your personal information held by the Club, or to have it corrected, please contact
